Castellar de n'Hug

The village sits at the Fonts del Llobregat, where underground water fed by rain and snowmelt emerges from the ground as the headwaters of the Llobregat river. It is one of the area's most visited natural features.

Two Romanesque churches survive in and around the village. The church of Santa Maria de Castellar de n'Hug keeps its original bell tower — a four-storey structure with rounded arch windows — and a door with Romanesque ironwork, though the rest of the building was remodelled in the neoclassical period. The church of Sant Vicenç de Rus, consecrated in 1106, is a single-nave building with a barrel vault and a semicircular apse decorated on the outside with Lombard arcading. It has been heavily restored and contains paintings from the 12th and 14th centuries.

Down at the Clot del Moro, within the municipal boundary, stands the former Asland cement factory — a modernist industrial complex promoted in 1901 by Eusebi Güell i Bacigalupi. It was the first industrial cement factory in Catalonia and remained in production until 1975. Since 1992 it has operated as the Museu del Ciment Asland, affiliated with the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia, and in 2005 it was declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest.

The village also has the Casa del Pastor, known as the Museu del Pastor, which traces the history of shepherding in the area.
