History of Biniali
Biniali is a hamlet within the municipality of Sencelles, on the plain of Mallorca known as the Pla. It stands on the left bank of the Solleric stream and has its origins as an Islamic farmstead, or alqueria, from the period of Moorish settlement. Today it is the second most populous settlement in the Sencelles municipality.
Its patron saint is Sant Cristòfol, celebrated on 10 July, and one of the most traditional acts of the festival is a blessing of cars and vehicles, reflecting the saint's role as patron of drivers.
