History of San Emiliano

San Emiliano — known as Santu Michanu in the local Patsueu language — is a municipality in the comarca of Babia, specifically Babia de Yuso, in the province of León, Castilla y León. It borders Asturias to the north, where it meets the Asturian councils of Lena, Quirós, Teverga and Somiedo. The municipality has a population of 585 people (INE 2025) and encompasses 13 other localities beyond the capital town itself.
