The village has two churches. The Ermita del Santo Cristo, begun in 1627 and rebuilt in 1830, is a single-nave baroque building with a barrel vault and thick pillar arches. It is the seat of the Cofradía de la Vera Cruz, one of Spain's oldest brotherhoods, established before 1522.
Inside, a polychrome stone retable houses the Gothic Cristo de los Barrios, and a side retable includes a Virgin attributed to the school of Gregorio Fernández. The larger church of Santa Columba, built between 1723 and 1757, follows a Latin cross plan under a barrel vault, with a main retable whose paintings and sculptures depict scenes from the life of Saint Columba, the town's patron saint.
