History of S'Alguer
S'Alguer is a small cove in the municipality of Palamós, on the Costa Brava in Baix Empordà. It developed as a fishing community, sitting between La Fosca and Platja de Castell, close to the old castle of Sant Esteve de Mar. The waterfront settlement and its buildings have been declared a cultural asset of national interest, recognising the cove as a rare example of a traditional coastal community that has held its historic character.
